My journey into the world of weaving

Well into Bathmat #1

I’ve done about a third of the first bathmat. I can see the framework of the cell more clearly – I think!
I’ve decided to try some other waffle patterns for the other two – just to see how different waffle weaves or variations may look.
And I’ve decided on my next project: his and hers scarves! I’m going to use two colors for the warp and one for the weft. Each scarf will have a different color weft. The pattern will be a twill. Now to order the yarn!
Also deciding what to put on the Dorothy. I certainly have enough yarn on hand to put together a small warp and have different yarns for the weft. I’ll be able to try different patterns and weaves.

  1. I don’t have much experience with waffle weave so I am very interested in this project. I’m glad your warp glitches were easy to fix. I can’t wait to see these after they’ve been washed!

  2. Me too on all accounts!
In all my reading and in one blog account I was able to find, waffle weavin g on the loom is very flat. It is when you take it off and give it a wash, that the magic happens! I hope!

  3. I love these bathmats!!! What a great idea for a waffle pattern. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product!!!

  4. Thank you, Shannon! Again, when I saw your pictures on your blog, I definitely got more confidence!
