My journey into the world of weaving

Back from the Fair

My sister and I spent 6 hours on Friday at the Commonground Fair, browsing through the arts and crafts, spending time and money at the numerous fiber vendors, and seeing alpacas, chickens, and angora bunnies galore! (I should say I spent money; my sister was pretty frugal!)

I got these two yarns from two different places. The dark yarn is called “Dark Chocolate” from A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm. It is a mohair blend from their Corriedale cross lamb and their Angora goat: 50% mohair, 50% wool. The blue blend is from The Enchanted Knoll. That’s where I got the Pumpkin Juice which I just used. I love the way the yarn is spun with different colors and effect.

We also learned a lot about composting and growing some vegetables! It was a gorgeous day – warm in the sun with a slight chill in the shade. We walked the whole time just about.

And now I have another project lined up!
