I am almost done with weaving the fourth placemat in the “Wedgewood” series. Except for a broken warp end, the weaving has gone smoothly. Repair was easily made and weaving continues.
I am preparing the warp for the rug. It is so very clear in my mind what I want this rug to look like – now I just have to figure what pattern will get me there. I think for the sake of simplicity, I will do a plain weave. I don’t want to get caught up in too many new experiences here!
I continue to spin as well. The Kiwi treadles very smoothly for me now. But I am pretty sure my sister and I don’t want a wheel that one has to fuss with the threading hook or the Scotch tension when removing the bobbin. Plus we like the large bobbins of the Louet. She is probably going to rent another Louet, double treadle, and we’ll narrow our choices from there!
