Centerweave

My journey into the world of weaving

Scarves continue, perhaps half way

I have woven about 30 inches on the first scarf. It is sweet weaving! The alpaca silk is a lovely soft strong warp. No broken ends or ends even thinking about breaking. Weaving with handspun is so much fun. I love the color variations of this “chocolate raspberry” fiber. The pattern is almost mindless but then if my mind really begins to roam, I can lose track of where I am!

The new issue of Handwoven (Sept/Oct 2009) is a great issue! There are lots of ideas and patterns and yarns to muse over. I like the weaving history included as well.

Next weekend, my sister visits and off we go to the Fiber Revival! Meanwhile I am plying up the fiber which came with our new spinning wheel. Next will be some fiber I purchased a while ago.
