Centerweave

My journey into the world of weaving

Scarves finished; scarves begun

I finished the set of scarves. They are long! One is 69 inches in length; the other is 74. They are each 6 inches wide. I like narrow scarves but I am considering wider scarves. When washed, I shook them out and that did make them somewhat softer and drapier. Then I hard ironed them and they feel wonderful now! Soft and silky. Just what I was hoping for.

With these two, I learned I had too much warp so for the next project, I took off half a yard. That is warped and ready to go on the loom today.

I’ve put all my weaving on the guest bed to determine who should get what for Christmas. Later, my husband and I will “shop” and decide!

Still spinning the wool fiber – the gray now. The bobbin I have on the Louet now seems to have a noise associated with it. Just that bobbin. Not sure what causes it but once the fiber is off, I can maybe investigate more.
