My journey into the world of weaving

New Year’s Day

I have been doing some fiber activities today which has felt really good.

I finished spinning some wool, purchased at the Commonground Fair. It’s the gray in this picture:

I divided and sorted the fiber I got for Christmas. I probably have enough fiber for the year! Plus my other sister gave me a gift certificate to the Purple Fleece!

Here’s the alpaca cria my sister gave me. Izzy was less than 3 months when this first fleece was taken. It is like feeling heaven – so soft!

And here’s the alpaca purchased at last year’s Fiber Revival, all cleaned and washed by Good Karma Spinning Co. (That’s also where my sister got the alpaca cria!)

Finally, our niece gave my sister and I these wonderful colors from a package which we divided in half. This will just be plain fun to spin!

And my empty loom waits for the next project. I aim to get that going tomorrow. I needed to do today’s puttering. I am ready.
